Welcome to the Maine Affiliate of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. We are teachers, professionals, retirees, and community members in support of the work being done all across the great state of Maine in this multi-faceted career path.

Once known as home economics, FCS encompasses those areas that were once deemed "home" skills, and acknowledges that many of those skills are now quite lucrative and personally rewarding as a career choice.

FCS helps young people, and their families become stronger. It helps them to lead better lives, to be ready for the workforce, and to be positive contributors to our communities.

FCS educators play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of individuals and communities, equipping them with essential life skills for both personal and professional success. (FCCLA)

FCS helps build a better Mainer, and Mainers are already pretty great.
